Welcome to the Northern District of GFWC Virginia

The Northern District was organized in 1924 and is one of eight districts comprising the GFWC Virginia Federation.

Currently we have 21 General Clubs, 1 Junior Club and 1 Juniorette Club with a combined membership of over 800.

Northern District Project: The maintenance of the gardens at GFWC Headquarters in D.C. continues to be a labor of love for the Northern District.

GFWC Signature Project: Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention: GFWC is a national leader in the fight to end domestic violence by raising awareness about this social issue.

One member of the Woman's Club of Loudoun will turn 100 years old this May. She also has been a GFWC member for 68 years. Please help them to celebrate this important event.
The Clifton Community Woman's Club
The Clifton Community Woman's Club invites you to our 47th Annual Clifton Homes Tour and Silent Auction on Friday, May 17. Enjoy guided tours of four elegant homes in the Clifton area. Tour tickets may be purchased in advance at local shops, online, or at the Clifton Presbyterian Church the day of the tour. Tickets: $30 in advance, $33 online, $35 the day of the tour, $10 for 1 home. Tour: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Silent Auction: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Clifton Presbyterian Church. Free admission to the silent auction, and free guided tours are offered for two historic churches. Ongoing project (till July 31st) Book Collection

The Woman’s Club of Loudoun

is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Our project is to provide a book to kindergarten students in two or three Loudoun County Elementary Schools this fall.In order to meet our goal, we are asking for your help. You can assist us by donating to this cause by providing a book(s) from the attached list, donating monetarily so that we may purchase books, agree to spread the word thru your business/practice and perhaps collect books. We will provide a list and a box for your use. The Club has set up a registry with Amazon to make your donation even more convenient as they will ship directly to us. GFWC Dominion Woman’s Club

will be hosting a Mother-Daughter Brunch featuring American Girl author Erin Teagan on June 2nd. This is our major fundraiser for the year; proceeds will go to to supporting our “Buy A Kid A Book” outreach to a local Title 1 school. We would love to have the company of our Northern District ladies at this event, tickets are $42 for adults, $36 for children available at www.dominionwomansclub.org. The event will be held at Centreville at Chantilly National Golf and Country Club from 11am-2 pm and feature a book signing, book sales and raffles featuring American Girl items.

2019 GFWC Annual Convention BROADENING OUR HORIZONS

June 29-July 1 The clubwomen of the Texas Federation are hosting the 2019 GFWC Annual Convention and anxious to welcome you to the Lone Star State from June 29-July 1 at the JW Marriott Austin. Pre-Convention tours are planned for you to visit various sites in and around the city of Austin. Convention will officially begin with the Opening State Flag Ceremony, followed by business sessions to act on proposed Resolutions and Bylaws. For celebration, there will be awards to honor your successes and accomplishments. There will be speakers, exhibits, vendors, partner networking, a service project, and raffles. We look forward to seeing you soon in Austin!
