GFWC Virginia

GFWC Virginia is a volunteer organization uniting 129 clubs in eight districts with 3,263 members whose purpose is to provide service in our local communities, Virginia, and the world.

Members are at least 18 years of age and participate through both General and Junior Clubs. Juniorette Clubs, comprised of high school students, are sponsored and advised by a federated club.

What We Do?

Members expended 213,139 hours in service to our communities in the areas of Arts & Culture, Civic Engagement & Outreach, Education & Libraries, Environment, Health & Wellness, Domestic & Sexual Violence Awareness, and Advocates for Children.  Monetary donations of $394,573 were made and in-kind contributions of $428,554 were given.

Clubs embraced the 2020-2022 State Project - Support of Military Families and the Armed Services YMCA.  Family Resource Centers on military bases have reaped the generosity of clubs and efforts to raise funds for the purchase of a bus for the Armed Services YMCA have been successful.
